She is knowledgeable at prescribing medications for treating eye infections and other ocular problems.
Dr. Buckley has not only been growing her optometry practice, but also her family! She’s now the very proud mother of two delightful little boys. In her time outside of work she loves making her kids laugh, cooking with her husband, and relaxing with a good book. She also has a love of travelling and hopes to one day continue exploring the world. Dr. Buckley understands that every person’s eyes are unique and require individual attention. She is happy to answer any questions related to your eye health. Dr. Buckley loves seeing patients from 3 months to 100+! She looks forward to seeing you and your entire family.

Dr. Colleen Gill grew up in Saskatchewan, and it was there in 1988 that she completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy. She then ventured across the border to Pacific University, where she received a Doctorate of Optometry in 1992. She practiced primary care optometry in Edmonton and the Lower Mainland, before relocating to Victoria to join Hillside Optometry Clinic in 1997.
Being passionate about healthy eyes, Dr. Gill enjoys practicing primary family eye care as well as surgical co-management and contact lens fitting. She further shows her passion and commitment as a member of both the Canadian and British Columbia Associations of Optometrists. She does find time away from the office however, and enjoys spending it with her family, travelling and gardening.
Originally from Delta BC, Dr. Meghan Hildebrand completed a Bachelor of Science degree at UBC. She then pursued a Doctor of Optometry at the University of Waterloo, where she graduated on the Dean’s Honour List.
Dr. Hildebrand has worked hard since graduation, gaining practical experience in the diagnosis, treatment and management of eye disease. She worked alongside both optometrists and ophthalmologists in her Ocular Disease and Therapeutics externship at Eye Associates of Pinellas in Florida. She also experienced primary eye care internships at multiple Metro Vancouver clinics.
Settling on the island has agreed with Dr. Hildebrand. She conducts every eye exam with a smile, which has led to patients sending her their friends and family.
Horst is our crafty veteran of the team; our go to guy for the doctors. As a dedicated professional he keeps the office running ship-shape by applying his skills ranging from computer template setup to equipment installs.
Such devotion is no surprise, considering that Horst founded Hillside Optometry in 1996.
Two decades later the evenings and weekends still belong to him. Many longtime patients continue to look for his smiling face behind the desk!
